7 Ways to Get More Spiritual Rest by Oliver C. Stone

Sep 15, 2025 | Featured, Resource Blog

Spiritual rest does not necessarily mean that you need to take a break from practicing your spirituality or religion. It can relate to the need to feel connected to the world and our purpose or meaning.

  1. Do some introspection. Sometimes we need to get connected with ourselves again. This can include things like journaling or meditation.
  2. Get inspired. Inspiration can jumpstart your motivation, help connect why you’re feeling a certain way, and unlock creativity.
  3. Engage with your spirituality in a less structured way. Sometimes structure and rules can leave us feeling stuck. If you try something less structured, it can help change your perspective and move you from feeling stuck to feeling refreshed.
  4. Try new things. Sometimes our spiritual practice isn’t meeting all of our needs, so trying some new ways of engaging with our spiritual practice can help us to identify and meet those needs.
  5. Give back. Giving to others, whether it’s people you’re close to or your greater community, is a wonderful way to engage with spirituality. Many traditions or religions emphasize the importance of giving to and assisting others.
  6. Get into nature. Nature is awe-inspiring. It allows us to experience the world in ways that few other things do.
  7. Find community. Practicing in a community, whether spirituality or any other practice, helps to create a sense of camaraderie. It can encourage us and support improvement or changes that we may want to make.

We’ve finally reached the end of the series about rest. I hope that at least a few of the ideas here spoke to you and that you were able to incorporate them into your life. Our next series will be based around therapy and questions that people have about how therapy works.
